Our Story
Our story, like our product, originated at the convergence of two elements: food and technology. Established in 2017, Botrista (pronounced Bot-REES-tuh) is a leader in the beverage technology space, and the inventor and developer of The Botrista DrinkBot, an automated craft drink solution for restaurants and food service providers.
While working out of a cafe, founder Sean Hsu found himself observing the staff making milk teas and coffees during the lunch rush. As the line began to stretch, he noticed that the complicated builds limited the staff interaction with guests. Worse yet, he also observed many guests order water after perusing the limited drink menu and not finding a desirable option.
Sean, an entrepreneur and serial inventor, began thinking of how to automate the process, deliver a better experience and offer more variety to the guests. Leveraging his robotics background and his experience in liquid dispensing at Tesla, Botrista was born.
Botrista has 130+ employees with offices in San Francisco and Taiwan.
About Us
Botrista provides automated beverage solutions to foodservice operators. Operators can increase ticket size and beverage attachment by serving non-alcoholic craft beverages to younger generation consumers. The trendy innovative craft beverages include boba teas, smoothies, iced coffee, flavored lemonades, energy drinks, and more. Importantly, data shows these new options drive overall drink sales higher without cannibalizing existing soda sales.
Botrista enables operators to add a new beverage category to their menu without the operational complexities. Botrista’s platform allows operators to subscribe to world-class quality from the leading ingredient manufacturers that they partner with. The vision is to make any staff member a professional barista or bartender with the easy-to-use Botrista system.
